かつて芦ノ湖を水源としていた早川。寛文10（1670）年に深良用水トンネルの開通で、芦ノ湖の水は緊急時を除き静岡側に流れるようになった。現在の早川には、かつての急流の面影はない。

[Hayakawa]

Hayakawa used to have Lake Ashi as its water source. With the opening of the Fukara Canal Tunnel in 1670, the water of Lake Ashi began to flow to the Shizuoka side except in emergencies. Today's Hayakawa River has no remnants of the rapids of the past.
